They were both on Epic Records, and “Dear Woman” was recorded around the same time as one of my favorite albums of all time, Charlie Rich’s “Behind Closed Doors” album. That piano on “Dear Woman” sure sounds like Charlie, and I’m wondering if he did any session recording for Joe Stampley or any other Epic artists during that time. Just for curiosity’s sake.
